Who Let the Dogs In

This sermon explores Jesus’ journey into Gentile territory (Mark 7:24–30), where He leaves religious insiders who honored God with their lips but not their hearts, and instead rescues one desperate outsider through her extraordinary faith. By tracing Jesus’ deliberate crossing of land and cultural boundaries to save a single demon-possessed child, we see both the right ordering of God’s redeeming love and the nature of “mega faith”—a faith that clings to Christ alone, persists through silence, and worships even while waiting. This passage calls us to examine our own loves, our perseverance in prayer, and whether our faith rests in religious proximity or in the mercy and authority of Jesus Himself.
