Love the Church
As a church, we believe that our mission is to make joyful followers of Jesus who love the church “just as Jesus loved the church and gave Himself for her” (Eph 5:25). A church that merely tolerates one another is hardly a picture of the gospel. Jesus said that the world would know we are His followers “if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). Every single commandment is dependent on our love for God and for one another (Matt 22:37–40). Of all the Christian virtues, the Bible says that “the greatest of these is love” (1 Cor 13:13). So, this is where our Christian discipleship must begin: by learning to truly love one another. Before we can effectively engage our cities and reach the nations, we need to pursue love toward one another.
