The Word of God

The final line in our church's mission statement is "the Word of God" - because it is the final word for every part of our life. God has exalted His Word above all things (Psalm 138:2). It is the product of divine inspiration (2 Tim 3:16). Therefore, it is flawless in every way (Prov 3:5). It is the lighthouse that pierces through the darkness with the hope of our salvation (Psalm 119:105; Rom 1:16; 10:17), and it is the source of our sanctification (John 17:17). It is our weapon against sin and Satan (Eph 6:17). If we truly desire to love one another, engage our communities, and reach the nations with the good news of Jesus, we must keep our hearts and minds rooted in the Word of God (Psalm 1:1-3).
